SoWhatElse Leadership Training SY: 2016-2017
Our partners, SoWhatElse sponsor a weekend leadership training for 15 students from the Vegan Cooking Program and The Green Team in Fall 2016 at ThorpeWood. Students were able to brainstorm different ways they could be leaders within their community. Students were also able to learn more about the different habitat restoration methods owner, Sam Castleman use to restore his land. In addition students attended Thorpewood, Equine Assisted Learning program. This program allowed the students to learn about communication and leadership skills.

Our partners, SoWhatElse sponsor another weekend leadership training for 13 students from the Vegan Cooking Program and The Green Team from Nov 10-12, 2018 at ThorpeWood. Not only were the students able to discuss what is needed to be a leader within their community. But they were able to go hiking, build a camp fire, even help clear out a beaver dam in the pond with the owner of Thorpewood. They also attended Thorpewood, Equine Assisted Learning program. This program allowed the students to learn about communication and leadership skills.

The Green Team Service Day SY: 2017-2018
On Friday, March 16, 2018 the Green Team held their first Service Day at AFSIVA. Students and volunteers from our partners worked on both our indoor and outdoor gardens. Plus paint different designs onto the school walls, collect trash in Harlem Park, made seed bombs, and most importantly have fun!
